I had the great pleasure to be selected by Clever Girls Collective to test drive the new online service from 2nd.MD, the revolutionary service that connects patients with medical specialists for one-on-one virtual consultations. This means you can get all your questions and concerns addressed so you are better prepared for your next appointment with your regular doctor. Their mission is simple and was inspired by the founder's own medical experience with his daughter. Just hearing their story made me feel that this was a company that might actually care about its clients.
For starters, as a designer, I was blown away with 2nd.MD's website. Their design and interface is clean, crisp, sleek and totally professional. Honestly, bad design can instantly turn me off from working with certain companies so finding a company that values good design as very impressive to me.
I chose to use my 2nd.MD test-drive to discuss my anxiety issues with a specialist. The website's interface is very user-friendly and I had no problem searching for a doctor who fit my needs and I anticipated feeling comfortable with. Unfortunately, she didn't have any appointments available.
I wasn't exactly sure how the appointment requesting process worked, so I shot a quick question over using the site's built-in contact form. Of course, I did this late at night but by 7am the next morning I had a thorough response. Talk about fast customer support!
Once I made my appointment with Dr. Rone, 2nd.MD walked me through the process of uploading my medical record and history for a more thorough consultation. They also make it very easy to confirm that your computer is compatible with their service. I also decided to check out their feature where you can invite someone else to sit-in on your appointment by inviting my husband.
When it came time for my appointment, I was advised to log in 10 mins early. Luke was unable to join me, and I was impressed that a rep from 2nd.MD actually called me to see if everything was ok when he hadn't logged in within a few minutes prior to the appointment.As I waited for Dr. Rone to "call me in" to my appointment, I was placed in 2nd.MD's "Consult Lobby." It's a sleek looking window that features various medical quotes and a countdown timer until your session.
Dr. Rone started our session promptly on time and we had a wonderful consultation. If you are looking for an experienced Psychiatrist, I thoroughly recommend her. She put me right at ease, listened to my concerns, and offered some wonderful talking points for my next doctor's visit. The 2nd.MD system made the whole process easy and enjoyable.At the end of our visit, I was sent all the doctor's notes regarding our appointment and was given the option to provide personalized feedback on my experience with Dr. Rone.
All in all, 2nd.MD is a service I whole-heartedly recommend as a great way to bring peace of mind to anyone concerned about a personal medical issue.
