Home Remodel: Living Room Plans

Since we moved into our house a year and a half ago, we have needed to redo our living room floor. It had suffered some termite damage and had weak spots coupled with gross laminate tiles. But seeing as it's a 360 sq. ft. room and our main entrance, it was a project we were not eager to tackle. So we jokingly said when once of us stepped through the floor, we would rip it up and redo it then and there.
Well with the news of Minion's upcoming arrival and, and an even deteriorated condition(despite no falling through yet!) we knew it was time to make concrete plans to fix it once and for all. So we set the goal of Thanksgiving time.
As the weeks/months have ticked by, we would talk about it but made no further progress to actually do anything. Until last week, we took Luke's day off on Tuesday to finally run over to Lumber Liquidators and get some ideas and quotes. While browsing the selection, the friendly sales guy told us about an upcoming blowout sale that was gonna start that Thursday. Since that's Luke's other day off it worked out perfect. We went home, picked out our favorites on their site, and set a budget.
When we showed up on Thursday, the first flooring we were drawn to was exactly our first pick from the website and it was marked down to only $.99/sq. ft. We experienced possibly the fasted checkout ever and were on our way home with all our new flooring and underlayment for $100 under budget :)

We also finally created a mission plan for ripping out all the existing flooring and redoing the subfloor. While doing so we will also be spraying some professional termite control chemical and treating all the new wood with termite killer. This should help prevent any future issues.
Since we will be starting with a fresh blank slate, we figured it would be the perfect time to go ahead and work on the whole room. So we have made the following project plan:
November 23-24 - Luke knocks out bar window between kitchen and living room
November 24-26 - Mom & I paint walls and remove trim/baseboards
November 27-28 - Luke rips out the old flooring
November 29-31 - Luke installs new floors while mom and I paint trim and door
Above you will see examples of the paint colors we are considering. Since we are going with darker floors and our caliche driveway contributes to lots of dust that makes light trim look dingy, I was tossing around the idea of painting the trim dark too.
I explored a bit on Pinterest and found this breathtaking room that we are using as the inspiration for our living room makeover :)
I am so excited to finally have a living space I love to look at and host friends in and it will be in perfect time for our first set of non-family house guests coming in December.
