What's on my screen? - Day 16

Luke was complaining about my wallpaper on my phone so I went through my art collection for a replacement. This is what I came up with. It's a painting by Nina Moscrip called Riga in February. I ordered a print of it for my collection months ago and am so happy to have it as a reminder of one of our favorite places and our goal of being able to go back for a longer time.

Our Dallas Baby Shower

Back during the holiday time, we made the trip up to Dallas to see family and friends and attend our first shower. Due to some unforeseen and tragic circumstances, there was a bit of drama that surrounded that shower. Fortunately things worked out in the best way possible and we were able to have a wonderful time.

What's on my screen? - Day 15

I ordered Minion's glow in the dark stars last night for his ceiling. As a kid my parents had installed mine to be astronomically correct, so I wanted to do the same for our little guy. It took a while to find a constellation map that included all the constellations I wanted to include. But once I did, I made this template to help us install the stars in the right positions.

4 Ingredient Brownies in a Mug

Every once in a while I get a huge craving for something sweet and brownies are the perfect thing. We try too always keep a mix on hand but sometimes we are fresh out. This led to me discovering how to make 3 ingredient nutella brownies.
They are quite yummy, but I also love the whole baking in a mug movement. What I couldn't understand though is why all the nutella brownie mug recipes I found called for so many ingredients.

What's on my screen - Day 14

Today we conducted our first Bible study via Skype. It was a pretty cool experience :)

CVS Extreme Couponing Week of 1/26

So today I got amazing deals at CVS. A lot of my deals were contingent on being an existing CVS extreme couponer so I had specific CVS coupons tailored to my general purchases, but I wanted to share how I did it, if anyone wanted to try to get similar deals.

What's on my screen? - Day 13

Found this amazing x wing drawing online and can't wait to blow it up as an engineering print poster in Minion's nursery! :-)

What's on my screen? - Day 11

Got a new phone today and I am something of a "power user" as Luke says. So this is what my app download screen was looking like :-\

What's on my screen? - Day 9

Today I was excited to see my breakdown of savings for last year at CVS. That's the main place I do my extreme couponing and it's always fun to keep track of how I am doing in general :)

What's on my screen? - Day 7

Double checked that we would be able to watch the season 3 premiere of Sherlock tomorrow night on PBS. So happy that we can, it will be our stay home date night for the next three weeks :-)

What's on my screen? - Day 6

Today was losts of running around and consulting this list frequent. Unfortunately it was also frustrating BC I couldn't find at least one item I needed at almost every place :-\

What's on my screen? - Day 5

If everything goes as planned, I hope to hang this print I made in Minion's nursery :-)

What's on my screen? - Day 4

Almost no screen time today outside of the TV. Although I think my wedding show viewing was appropriate considering I was finishing up an invitation suite.

How to Diaper on Less Than $500 Total

On Monday, I shared our plans for approaching diapering Minion. Today, I want to give you a budget breakdown for how much we plan to spend on diapering.
For starters, I got my needed quantities from this post about stocking up on diapers. It is the most thorough breakdown by size I have found so far.

What's on my screen? - Day 3

Not a lot of screen time today BC I have some suite orders I am filling. But I did use the Big Oven app on my phone to prepare dinner and an extra batch for our post-partum freezer meals.

What's on my screen? - Day 2

I finally scheduled interviews with potential pediatricians for Minion and also found a great guide to help my friendographer prepare for doing my labor and birth photos :-)

Our Diapering Plans

{source}
Before I ever got pregnant, I did the research and we made the decision to cloth diaper. I can't tell you where I heard about modern cloth diapering first but I liked the economical savings of it. Around the same time, I heard about "ECing" for the first time from the Progressive Pioneer. I quickly dismissed the concept because I never heard of anything like that before.

365: What's On My Screen? - Day 1

When I first joined instagram in 2012, I had an idea for a 365 project based on what is on my computer screen each day. I lost steam about a month in, but the idea has always lingered in my mind.
So for 2014, I want to give it a go again. I'm not committing myself to 365 consecutive days but I want to continue it until I hit that number.
Each day, I will share a photo of what I'm doing on the computer, my phone, or reading on my kindle. Basically anything related to screen time. And I'll include a brief statement about what I am doing. I love the theme of this 365 project BC it's a behind the scenes peak without feeling narcissistic like a selfie series would...
So for Day 1, I rarely ever go to sleep in the same "day" as waking up but find myself most productive late at night. Tonight I had fun collecting photography business tips and ideas on pinterest. Especially fell in love with some new actions :-)

Our Wedding Memory Jar

If there's one thing you should have learned about me by now, it's that I love saving things. Collecting mementos is like preserving memories. I still remember the first time I saw the movie Everything is Illuminated and how fascinated I was by the concept of memory collectors. But there is a fine line between saving things of sentimental value and becoming a hoarder.

6 Android Apps to Replace Traditional Daily Planners

On Monday, I explained my transition away from the daily planner to exclusively using my smartphone. A few huge pros for me have been...
  • I can organize different aspects of my life separately.
  • I can set reminders so I don't ever miss a deadline.
  • Everything I need to know fits in my pocket and is always with me.
  • Everything backs-up so I won't lose precious info.
  • I can sync my info across several platforms to be able to check on things virtually anywhere.

2013 Sans Planner

I love planners. When I saw Say Not Sweet Anne's 2014 printable planner I had to hold back from hitting download immediately because in my heart I am very much a paper and pen girl.
