Before living here, I never really knew what a canal was. It's a word you hear and know the definition of but isn't commonly seen in other parts of the country. Down here they are everywhere and are vital to the agricultural industry. We have one not to far from our house and they are one of the best spots to go look for beautiful birds (local and migratory).
Borderlands is an ongoing photography project that features anecdotes from our life in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
