DIY Date Night Jar

So in my late night perusing of Pinterest the other day, I found the adorable idea of making a date night jar. There are some pretty cute ones making the rounds right now. And fortunately for me, I had all the supplies on hand to make our own.
This jar is absolutely perfect for us because there are a lot of nights where we want to do something different but can't think of anything and end up just staying home and moping. Well not anymore!

We now have a stash of 42 date night activities right at our fingertips.

Making this jar was actually very easy.

All you need is:

  • A Mason Jar
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Twine
  • Scissors
  • Hole Punch
  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Lace
  • Paint (I used red, yellow, and white)
  • Paint Brush
  • Water
  • Napkins
  • Sharpie
To assemble, I just divided my popsicle sticks into 3 groups and painted each its own color. I then wrapped the lace around the inside of my jar to decorate and tied on some twine and a tag around the lip. I wrote a date idea on each stick based on the color category. Then I filled my jar with the sticks and wrote a description of the color categories on the tag. Voila! You now have a date night jar.

Below is the list of date activities I came up with for each color category:
