The Demise of the Wedding Blog

Now maybe it is because I am no longer in wedding planning mode, but for the past few months I find myself not even reading  my old favorite wedding blogs. I kept feeling like I wasn't seeing anything new, but the same wedding regurgitated over and over again since 2009.

There have been no real new ideas, very subtle trend changes, and the formerly cutting edge blogs that replaced magazines have become exactly what those magazines were. A bunch of ads with a few of the same pretty pictures and ideas featured day after day.
And I have to say that today was the breaking point for me... because 4 different big name wedding blogs featured the exact same 2 sponsored posts. They didn't even variate in the post titles. Seriously!
It truly is a sad day since these blogs used to be so great and truly helped me have a unique wedding. I really hope the tides change and we see a new era of innovative wedding blogs.
