Project 30.30.30. - Day 8

So today I actually blanked it on refashioning something. So when I remembered I wasn't entirely sure what to do. I also dove into without getting a before picture :(
I ended up grabbing another one of my dad's old shirts and followed the steps found here to make a new service skirt.
I think I might add some elastic to the back waist band for a better fit but overall I think it's pretty cute :)

  1. love this series of posts! I'm trying to revamp my closet on a tight budget, too. Just turned 27 and am trying to transition away from too youthful looks and into classic clothes with vintage touches that will never go out of style as the yrs fly by. I am no seamstress (my husband sewed our curtains!), but your posts might just inspire me to dabble in it a bit. I have always wanted to learn anyway.

    1. You definitely should! I have been having ablast with it. I am not a good sewer either, basically just know how to do a straight stitch. But my Aunt has subscribed me to threads magazine and I had gotten their book a while ago. This project is really helping me push myself on sewing projects to attempt so I thoroughly recommend giving it a try yourself :)
P.S. Shoot me an email to update me on what you guys have been up to :)
